Third Schedule (regulation 12 and the First Schedule)

(1)Donning of protective equipment by samplers:
(a)A sampler shall use protective equipment comprising all of the following:
(1)a long, fastened, disposable gown, resistant to liquids;
(2)an N-95 type mask, and for the purpose of performing sampling operations on a person being tested who is deaf or hard of hearing – a transparent mask;
(3)protective goggles or a face shield;
(4)two pairs of disposable gloves;
(b)While working with gloves, contact with the eyes, nose or skin shall be avoided as far as possible;
(c)The order of doffing protective equipment shall be as follows:
(1)the outer pair of disposable gloves;
(2)protective goggles or a face shield;
(3)the disposable gown;
(4)the N-95 type mask or transparent mask;
(5)the inner pair of disposable gloves;
(d)After doffing the protective equipment, the disposable protective equipment shall be discarded into a biological waste (Biohazard) bin;
(e)Work stations shall not be left before all protective equipment has been removed;
(f)After the protective equipment has been removed, the hands shall be thoroughly washed with water and soap; if such hand-washing cannot be performed, hand disinfection shall be performed using a 70% alcohol solution;
(2)The sampling process:
(a)Sampling shall be performed in a room or dedicated area designated for sampling and the conducting of a test;
(b)The room or dedicated area shall be enclosed and defined and shall contain all equipment required for sampling and the conducting of a test;
(c)The room or dedicated area shall be protected from environmental conditions capable of adversely affecting the sampling process, the conducting of the test or the testing equipment, including direct sunlight, high heat, rain and winds;
(d)Entry to the room or dedicated area shall be prevented for strangers, except for persons being tested and except for those permitted to do so by the sampler;
(e)A sampler shall not commence performing corona tests until after completing the sampling operations and after changing disposable gloves;
(f)Every sample must be recorded, labelled and uniquely identified (one-to-one);
(g)Disposable gloves shall be changed between each person being tested and upon completion of the sampling process for each person being tested;
(h)The work surface shall be disinfected between each person being tested using a disinfection solution intended for the disinfection of surfaces; an accepted disinfection solution is hypochlorous acid 5.25% diluted with tap water at a ratio of 1:10 or 70% alcohol; the solution shall be prepared fresh each day;
(3)Handling of samples:
(a)After the completion of the sampling operations, the samples shall be transferred to the room or dedicated area for testing;
(b)The samples shall be transferred to the room or dedicated area by means of a sampling vessel suitable for the medical equipment with which the rapid corona test is performed; samples shall be transferred inside a tightly sealed sampling vessel and inside a tightly sealed Biohazard bag;
(4)Conditions for conducting a test:
(a)Absorbent paper shall be placed on the work surfaces used for conducting the test and removed to the biological bin upon completion of use;
(b)Upon completion of the handling of each sample, the absorbent paper shall be replaced and the work surface disinfected with a disinfection solution intended for the disinfection of surfaces as referred to in item (2)(h) of this Schedule;
(5)End of work:
(a)At the end of work, care shall be taken to disinfect all work surfaces with a disinfection solution intended for the disinfection of surfaces;
(b)Paper and open consumable materials that were in use during the conducting of a test shall be disposed of in the biological bin.

Fourth Schedule (regulation 13 and the First Schedule)

(1)Packaging of samples: the packaging of samples shall be carried out as follows:
(a)the sample containers shall be placed inside a sealed Biohazard bag; the said bag shall be placed inside a rigid plastic box with a screw-top lid;
(b)a sampling form detailing the identifying particulars of the person being tested shall be attached to the outer pocket of the Biohazard bag;
(c)the plastic box shall be placed inside a polystyrene packaging box together with ice packs and absorbent material; several samples may be packed in the polystyrene packaging box;
(d)the outer packaging shall be sealed with wide adhesive tape on all sides and the packaging shall be marked with the markings "Biohazard" and "Corona";
(e)care shall be taken to hermetically seal the sample containers and to secure them inside the box, in order to prevent spillage of the samples;
(f)each sample container shall be labelled separately and shall include the name of the person being tested, an identifying number and the type of sample;
(g)the samples shall be transferred to a medical laboratory as quickly as possible under refrigeration (2 to 8 degrees Celsius);
(2)The collection and transportation of samples shall be carried out as follows:
(a)transportation of samples to a medical laboratory shall be carried out by means of a dedicated suitable vehicle, not by public transport or by a two-wheeled vehicle;
(b)it shall be ensured that the outer containers are secured in the vehicle in a manner that prevents the samples from falling, sliding or scattering within or outside the vehicle.
